Do you think with the Japan lock down due to rise in covid cases, that it could send us into another possible lock down here in the US and could hurt AMC stock before the potential squeeze?

Regarding hurting the stock, I don’t believe that’s going to be too big of an issue. This is NOT a fundamentals play right now. The naked shorts over leverage is beyond any fundamentals and is the reason the squeeze will happen.

Fundamentals such as ticket sales provide some positive coverage that may bring in some extra purchases from people on the fence but poor sales is not going to cause any apes to sell.

Post-squeeze, when some of us buy back in for the long term play, THEN we will be playing AMC off fundamentals.

Thanks Curunir! I just wasn’t sure if we do go through another lock down and the price of AMC drops drastically that it could help the hedgies in anyway with the shorts. I’m new to trading so still grasping and learning.

The hedgies are cheating the crap out of the price completely beyond what any lock-down, zombie apocalypse, super volcano, alien invasion or such could ever do. 😜

I hope when this is all done someone on the inside writes a book so we can understand what they were able to do because it makes no sense.

I agree, they have always done this whether it be oil or health… all of the history at the end points to the market… fear propaganda was birthed, I am beginning to see, in Wall Street. I think what pisses them off is that they can’t scare us… and honestly.. what do they have to scare us with? Fear only guides us to continue to lose… We lost our homes in 2008, our retirements accounts in the .com era and then COVID 19… they consistenly use fear to control markets and when it doesn’t work they use bullying and manipulation tactics… for the longest times this has created those on the top to get richer while those on below to continue to lose… think of our lives as the market… for a long time we have all been playing bearish… now we are playing bullish… and a lot of us are being bullish… we created competition… I no longer have anything to lose, they have gambled my social security away… I will pay student loans up until I am dead.. and even then I will still owe… might as well play this game… because this is the chance I have to give my kids and my family… this is the legacy.

I agree and honestly at the end of the day we no matter your political views we all have the same goals.

I was not irresponsible with student loans but they are impossible to pay.. I have paid 70k already on 70k but still owe 48k on federal loans… I can’t keep up on interest… that’s 15k per year for 5 years to get my masters degree.. my first few years in social work I got paid 38k a year… I am know finally making 65k working at the VA… it’s ridiculous to think people can afford college because they really can’t even with working… no way someone in college could pay living expenses and tuition and not have student loan debt…

It will be interesting to see if the US will try to push another lockdown (and if people will obey it). After roughly 14ish months of lockdown, a lot of US citizens are fed up with it, regardless of another wave and there is no guarantee they will obey this time.

It will also be interesting to see how this administration will handle it. The previous one (love it or hate it) was a strong proponent to keeping the economy open for business. This administration seems more inclined to keep people home again.

How does AMC play in? In my opinion, AMC is in a completely different position than last year. They are now sitting on billions of dollars and have publicly stated they can operate until the end of 2022 and are the healthiest they have been in their 100 years of business.

With all the share issuance they have done this year, and the revenue they will be getting this year with all of the movies coming out, if they were smart, instead of trying to grow and acquire more locations, they should lower/negiotiate their debt and streamline costs and spending just in case we are locked down again.

We apes still have yet to get paid. AMC has already gotten paid multiple times. They currently have the most money in thier account than they have ever had. If they can’t manage it wisely and survive the worst case scenario (another shut down), then they have bigger problems.

The hedge funds are a different story though. I have no facts, but I wouldn’t be surprised if part of their plan was to keep kicking this can down the road as much as possible until the 2nd wave hits us and takes out AMC for good and/or we lose our steam. That plan didn’t expect apes to buy and hold and strengthen the company financially though, so the game has changed. Even if we were to lock down again, the fight for the squeeze would still be on and AMC really wouldn’t even be a factor this time (as long as they stay out and quit asking for more shares).

    Just my 2 cents.

I don’t think another lock down will happen… even with the delta variant… AMC will need to figure out how to get homebodies engaged though because I think people don’t like being around people or crowds and that is for many reasons other then a virus.. they need to find a way to engage with all types of personalities because someone will meet the demand… movies at home etc… Covid just made it possible… similar to tele health.. people have always preferred it the service just wasn’t available until lockdown but now it is so they have to adapt.. but they have to be flexible to both because people do like choice
